We spoke with Line Mjels, Key Account Manager at Milexia Nordics, about what drives her positivity and passion, why she thrives in her daily work environment and what makes Milexia Nordics a workplace she would recommend for other ambitious sales professionals.

A lucky coincidence

Line’s path into sales and distribution of technical components was definitely not planned. With a background in business school and a traditional apprenticeship, she was heading for a job in the insurance industry. But an opportunity within the electronics sector caught her attention. “It was the people. I met ambitious, capable women with international careers. That inspired me. I could see real opportunities to grow.”

Suddenly she was building a solid foundation within a large, global organisation where she gained valuable experience, worked with international customers and developed her commercial toolbox, and she never looked back at the insurance industry again.

“I’m very solution-oriented. I found myself falling in love with the customer dialogue, understanding their challenges and helping them move forward.”

From Tanker to Sailing boat

Then it became time for something different. “I wanted to be part of something smaller, be closer to the impact of my work. Closer to decisions.” That reflection led her to Milexia Nordics. Although what ultimately convinced her for a job in Milexia Nordics was not the size, nor the company name – it was the managers she met and their mindset.

“The drive and passion from the management team stood out immediately. There was energy, ambition and trust.”

Line describes moving to Milexia Nordics as shifting from a tanker to a small sailing boat. “A sailing boat can change direction quickly, adjust its sails and move fast. That’s how I see Milexia Nordics. There’s a very short distance from idea to action.” From day one, she was a part of the team – not simply maintaining accounts but building business. “I was trusted from day one. I wasn’t just maintaining accounts or fitting into a rigid structure – I was invited to build and create. That makes a huge difference to me.”

Today, Line develops long-term customer relationships while actively identifying new business opportunities. She explores new markets, including defence, and works with technically complex and customised solutions. “Here I can build my own business within the business. If you see an opportunity, you can act on it.”

Close to decisions, customers, and colleagues

One of the most defining aspects of Line’s role at Milexia Nordics is proximity.

“You are close to the decision-makers. There’s no unnecessary bureaucracy. If something makes sense, we move.”

Her working week is dynamic: international meetings with customers and suppliers, technical discussions around drawings and specifications, cost optimisation dialogue, and identifying new partners when customer needs require tailored solutions.

“I have the flexibility to find the right supplier for a specific challenge. We are not limited to pushing a certain product. We look at what actually solves the customer’s problem.”

That shift – from selling products to delivering solutions – is fundamental. And something Line is really happy about in her work: “Today, I work much closer to customers’ R&D departments. We discuss technical set-ups and development projects. We’re partners. Not distributors.

Internally, collaboration is seamless. “It’s easy to gather the right people. Technical specialists, supply chain, marketing, management. Everything is accessible within a near reach. That makes us strong.”

And the impact is visible. When a customer recently told her, “Line, you make a difference at Milexia,” it confirmed exactly why she thrives in her role. “Here, I can see that what I do matters – not only internally, but for the customer”.
