The SOTM-type POMA-45N supports both Ku and Ka-band operation. It features a highly reliable direct-drive mechanism for azimuth (AZ) and elevation (EL), along with a cap-style feed designed for efficient performance and reduced side lobes.
The POMA-45N operates independently of GPS by utilising satellite beacon tracking to correct gyro errors, requiring only manual input of the local latitude and longitude prior to initial satellite acquisition. It offers rapid satellite pointing, with GPS/BD cold start positioning achieved in under 80 seconds, and hot start (or manual input) in under 60 seconds.
