1:2 Redundancy Switch Controller for Dual Polarisation Operation
The integration of 1+2 protection was a key design goal for Milexia in protecting the new Terrasat’s IBUC-G intelligent block upconverter range.
The T-GAN 1+2 incorporates a separate switching logic unit with an LCD graphical user interface, which will monitor each IBUC-G’s alarm condition and, through a simple switching junction box, make the decision to switch.
The logic controller within the T-GAN 1:2, will configure the ‘STANDBY’ IBUC-G to have the same operational parameters as the failed unit, thus making switch over fast and accurate mitigating outages and maintaining link integrity.
The 1+2 switching matrix will be supplied on a custom mounting plate.
Practically a passive unit, the junction box manages the functions of dividing the IF signal and routing signals through an Ethernet switch.
