Precise time is normally acquired from GPS or from time code signals such as IRIG‑B. Extremely accurate time is obtained from the GPS satellite system or from the time codes supplied to the host computer.
GPS synchronization guarantees 170 nanoseconds RMS accuracy relative to UTC (USNO), making the bc637PCIe an ideal master clock for accurately synchronizing one or more computers to UTC.
Module integration is simplified thanks to standard Windows, Linux, and Solaris drivers, which are available for download.
