9611B – Intelligent Switch and Distribution System
Microchip 9611B switch & distribution system is an intelligent switching, monitoring distribution system, packaged in a 1U rack-mount chassis
The 9611B can be configured to distribute a wide range of signal formats—low-noise sine waves, IRIG time codes, or pulse formats—from one of the two inputs to the twelve outputs.
It enables a single model to support multiple signaling formats, reducing support and logistics costs.
The 9611B provides signal distribution with manual and automatic switching. In automatic mode, it detects any input or output failure based on the propagated signal type.
In Auto mode, a failure in the primary input triggers automatic switching to the secondary input.
Alarm conditions are indicated across all user interfaces, including the front panel and command-line interface.
Main Features
- Supports multiple signal formats: IRIG time codes, pulse formats, and low-noise sine waves.
- Enables redundant inputs: in automatic mode, it detects input failure and automatically switches to the redundant input without signal loss.
- 12 outputs: low-noise amplifiers and high isolation allow distribution of 12 copies of each input without degradation to downstream equipment, enabling reliable distribution of high-precision RF time codes and 1 pps signals.
- Front panel controls: in case of input failure, an alarm signals the condition via front panel indicators and controls.
- Command-line interface: the 9611B features a serial port that supports PC communication programs.
